My intention, anyway. This spring I’ll be planting a bunch of veggies and hoping for them to grow. I’ll be in the desert, so that means growing in pots, but it can be e. Making my seed and supplies list now.

Over the past few days I’ve been reading about something called “aquaponics,” which is a marriage of aquaculture (growing fish) and hydroponics (growing plants without soil). Water from the fish pond is circulated through the hydroponic grow beds.
The fish feed the plants, the plants (and the fish) feed you, scraps go to the worms, which are fed to the fish. Wow. AND the whole system uses only a small percentage of the precious water that a “normal” garden would consume. Not only that, I see quite a few vertically oriented systems, which means lots of production in a small space.
This feels like a must-do to me. Oh, yeah.

amazing…and yet makes perfect sense. just bringing larger pieces of nature indoors. which might be silly, but we do spend so much time here!
